AOC and Other Dems Turn Coronavirus Into Another Racial Grievance
If you thought a global pandemic that infects and kills people with absolutely no regard for their skin color might finally force Democrats away from their insidious obsession with identity politics, you were gravely mistaken. Not only are Democrats more concerned with what we CALL the coronavirus than what we actually DO about it, they are now turning their focus to the ways in which COVID-19 may be infecting racial minorities at a higher rate than whites.
We’re not sure there are actually any statistics to prove this is the case, but even if there are, it seems to be a natural byproduct of large cities and their demographic makeup. You can ask the coronavirus to please infect all races equally, but, you know, you’ll want to stand at least six feet away while making the request.
Of course, this has less to do with the racism of the coronavirus and more to do with Democrats finding a way to perpetuate their neverending divisive ideology through the horror of a pandemic.
“COVID deaths are disproportionately spiking in Black + Brown communities,” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted on Friday. “Why? Because the chronic toll of redlining, environmental racism, wealth gap, etc. ARE underlying health conditions. Inequality is a comorbidity. COVID relief should be drafted with a lens of reparations.”
Okay, well, it’s not surprising to see someone like AOC take a racial approach to a global pandemic; she wouldn’t know what to do with herself if she had to simply look at Americans AS Americans. But sadly, she’s not the only one tilling this rocky ground.
“Our health care system is rife with racial disparities. Racial data on coronavirus will be critical to ensuring an equitable and just response to this crisis across the board,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren tweeted on Saturday. “But we don’t have that data—yet. That’s why last week @AyannaPressley and I sent a letter to HHS urging them to collect and release racial data on coronavirus. I’m grateful that our colleagues @CoryBooker, @KamalaHarris and @RobinLynneKelly have signed on—and I urge others to do the same.”
To prove what, exactly? Do these Democrats have to wait for the racial data to see whether or not they should actually care about this disease? Does it only become a “Democrat problem” if it infects black people at a higher rate than whites?
Also…how does AOC know that the coronavirus is “disproportionately spiking in Black + Brown communities” if Warren admits that “we don’t have that data”?
These idiots are just making it up as they go along.
