Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke has apparently decided that the best defense is a good offense. Instead of merely defending against the accurate appearance of the Democratic Party being weak on illegal immigration, the christened Robert Francis O’Rourke is choosing to go in the opposite direction, playing up the party’s biggest weakness as its biggest strength. In other words, it’s a great thing for the U.S. that we have hundreds of thousands of migrants a year pouring across our southern border!
Good luck with that message, Beto.
In a speech to supporters in El Paso on Saturday, O’Rourke said he was proud to fight for looser immigration laws.
“With Ciudad Juarez we form the largest binational community in this hemisphere. And for 20 years running, we’ve been one of the safest cities in the United States of America,” he said. “We are safe not despite the fact that we are a city of immigrants and asylum seekers. We are safe because we are a city of immigrants and asylum seekers.
“We have learned not to fear our differences, but to respect and embrace them,” he continued. “We see the languages spoken in this community, the traditions, the cultures, as a strength for El Paso.”
Yes, if only more of our American cities can begin to share the culture, values, and demographic makeup of JUAREZ, this nation will be in good shape going forward. Is this seriously going to be this idiot’s message in the primaries? Exactly how does he think that’s going to play in the general election? Every day that goes by, we start hoping more and more that this moron somehow wins the Democratic nomination. Trump will crush him like a flea.
“Let us reunite every single one of those families that are still separated today,” O’Rourke said.
We wholeheartedly agree. Reunite them, stick $20 in their shirt pockets, and send them right on their merry way back to Mexico and parts unknown.
“We will find security not through walls, not through militarization, we will find security by focusing on our ports of entry,” Beto continued. “If we are really serious about security, we have a golden opportunity, Republicans, Independents, Democrats alike to work on comprehensive immigration reform, to rewrite this country’s immigration laws in our own image with our own values and in the best traditions of the United States of America.”
Yeah, no thanks.
