Bush to Vote for Hillary: 2016’s Alternative Universe Gets Even Weirder
You guys do realize that we’re living in some form of alternative universe, right? That’s not breaking news, surely. It’s not quite clear where we broke off from the common timeline, but it had to be around the time Jeb Bush was polling in the low single digits. He was supposed to be the Republican nominee! The other 16 candidates were just a fun little diversion in the meantime. Get some media coverage. Maybe make a couple of new, national stars. But it was never supposed to be a serious contest.
Unfortunately, a few people didn’t get the message, and one of them was Donald Trump. He naively went into the primaries thinking he could actually win…and somehow or another, we all wound up in the alternative universe where he did!
But apparently, this alternative universe does not rely on subtlety. So in case there was anyone left who didn’t understand that we’d left Earth 1, the timeline lords provided us with this, via Politico:
[George H.W.] Bush’s admission that he plans to vote for Clinton occurred during a board meeting for the former president’s Thousand Points of Light Foundation. Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend, the former Maryland lieutenant governor and daughter of the late Robert F. Kennedy, asked Bush about his choice during a receiving line and got a frank answer — which she then posted to her Facebook page, prompting news reports Monday and Tuesday, confirming that Bush indeed plans to vote for Clinton.
In a year where the presidential contest was supposed to be Bush (comma Jeb) versus Clinton (comma Hillary), we’ve now got Bush VOTING for Clinton! And you still think we’re in the old reality?
According to Politico, the Bush family was not happy about Townsend spreading the word about 41’s vote, but they chose not to deny it when the reports came rolling in. In the meantime, Jeb is staying “neutral,” telling reporters that he will vote for neither Hillary nor Trump in November. Apparently, he doesn’t think being on record supporting a Democrat will play well when he runs again in 2020.
In their calculations, the Bush family apparently still thinks we’re living in the original timeline. They don’t yet realize that we’re in Trump World now; any resistance is futile.
