CNN Reporters ARE Liberal Hacks, So What’s the Problem?
CNN and their cohorts in the left-wing media were aghast on Thursday morning when Sen. Martha McSally (R-AZ) refused a question from political reporter Manu Raju. Raju, who has a long history of carrying water for the Democrats, rushed up to McSally on the morning the impeachment trial was set to begin in the Senate. Predictably, he asked her a question that could have come straight from the DNC’s talking points. Indeed, it probably did.
“Sen. McSally, should the Senate consider new evidence as part of the impeachment trial?” Raju asked.
Instead of giving Raju some fodder he could take on the CNN airwaves, she brushed him off entirely.
“Manu,” she said, “you’re a liberal hack. I’m not talking to you.”
“You’re not going to comment, senator, about this?” a wounded Raju replied.
“You’re a liberal hack,” McSally repeated.
What’s funny is that instead of waiting for Raju and CNN and the rest of the martyrs in the media to condemn this remark, McSally herself tweeted out a cellphone video of the incident. Shortly thereafter, the official Trump campaign Twitter picked up on the exchange and praised McSally for standing her ground.
“THREE CHEERS for Senator @MarthaMcSally!!! THIS is how you handle FAKE NEWS @CNN,” the campaign tweeted.
CNN released a statement saying that it is “extremely unbecoming for a U.S. Senator to sink to this level and treat a member of the press this way for simply doing his job.”
Notice that CNN avoided referring to Raju as a “journalist,” which would have left them all too open for the predictable replies. They may not be learning much about how to cover the news in an unbiased, objective fashion, but they have gotten clever about their real business, which is fighting a war against Republicans and Trump.
The media is, naturally, using this as another pretext to claim victimhood status and assure gullible Americans that we’re headed down the road to fascism. Or, at the very least, a world where reporters are under constant mortal threat for doing nothing more or less than exercising their First Amendment rights. It never seems to occur to anyone in the media that only in a country with robust First Amendment protections could they complain so vociferously about their lack of freedom.
We’ve been especially amused by reports that take a concerning look at McSally herself, who has apparently been “radicalized” over the last couple of years. Reporters have taken a condescending “look at what Trump has done to this once-polite young woman” tone when discussing her transformation. What none of them seem to get (or at least be willing to admit) is that like Lindsey Graham, Elise Stefanik, and so many others, McSally hasn’t been radicalized by Trump – she’s been radicalized by the OPPOSITION to Trump.
But to admit that would be to admit that they have all indeed become “liberal hacks,” and we don’t expect that moment to come anytime soon.
