CNN Shill: Can Kamala Harris Overcome America’s “Powerful” Racism?
Apparently having forgotten that the U.S. elected a black president in both 2008 and 2012, CNN political hack Nia-Malika Henderson argued on Tuesday that Joe Biden had taken a major risk to choose Kamala Harris as his running mate. After all, she said, racism is still one of the biggest forces in American culture, meaning that Harris will have to overcome near-impossible odds to win over the hearts and minds of bigoted voters everywhere.
You have to wonder: If America is so blatantly racist and terrible, why do they tune into stations like CNN, where they are told how disgusting and awful they are on a regular basis? Of course, we’re sure that Henderson is speaking only about all of those deplorables who don’t watch the network. Which, looking at their ratings lately, would still constitute most of America. But we have a feeling that has more to do with the insipid political “analysis” offered by activists like Henderson than any lingering racism in the American zeitgeist.
Henderson said that Americans can expect President Trump to go back to his well of “sexist” attacks that he used against Hillary Clinton in 2016.
“You see him going against Kamala Harris in that same way in some of his comments,” she said without evidence. “And you imagine you’ll see some of that as well from other folks in the [Republican] party and more generally, just the culture as well. The culture is sort of primed to be racist, it’s primed to be sexist, so I think it will be interesting to see some of the conversation that comes out of this very historic pick.”
So far, the “conversation” seems to be leftists like yourself running themselves ragged to lecture us on how any criticism of Harris is racist and sexist.
“I think they’re going to throw the kitchen sink at Kamala Harris, at this ticket. It will be laced with racism and sexism in the that way we have come to see this president and understand this president over the last many years, and we’ll see if it works,” she continued. “I have said before, racism and sexism are very powerful forces in this country. Racism might be the most powerful force in this country ever and so it’s still a big risk [for Biden to choose Harris].”
We’d argue exactly the opposite. Biden chose Harris precisely because it shields his running mate from the kinds of criticism that would have rained down upon any white male candidate…like himself. She is bulletproof because people like Nia-Malika Henderson will be running interference for her from now until the election. Put that together with the fact that Harris can give him some additional “black cred” and distract from his questionable history on issues of race, and you have the perfect pick.
Make no mistake: If Joe Biden thought there was a chance in hell that Harris’s race would keep him from winning in November, he would have picked someone else.
