Conservative Stars Blame Maxine Waters for Leftist Mob at Restaurant
Conservative thought leaders Charlie Kirk and Candace Owens just wanted to have a peaceful breakfast at a Philadelphia café on Monday morning. The Turning Point USA members were just sitting down to their meal at the Green Eggs Café when screaming demonstrators started interrupting them. According to Malik Joe, the manager of the restaurant, he thought at first that the protesters – now gathering both inside and outside his establishment – were related to some form of vegan group. He then realized they were yelling about white supremacy and immigration.
It is perhaps worth pointing out that Candace Owens is black.
Growing concerned about their well-being, Owens pulled out her phone and began tweeting her account of the leftist mob that had descended upon her and Kirk.
“Charlie Kirk and I just got ATTACKED and protested by ANTIFA for eating breakfast,” she wrote, posting a video in which a protester dumped a cup of liquid on her friend’s head. “They are currently following us through Philly. ALL BLACK AND HISPANIC police force protecting us as they scream.”
In his own remarks following the incident, Kirk laid the blame for the attack at the feet of Rep. Maxine Waters, who has publicly encouraged her supporters to disrupt, protest, and engage Trump’s supporters and other Republicans wherever they see them out.
“This is Maxine Waters’ America,” he wrote. “She called for these sort of attacks. Within 20 mins ANTIFA mobilized a protest, started screaming at us, attacked us, & threatened death against us. This is the face of the Democrats. Conservatives aren’t safe — @RepMaxineWaters called for this.”
Earlier this summer, after several members of the Trump administration were shamed in public by left-wing activists, Waters said at a rally that these protests should continue until Trump is out of office.
“The American people have put up with this president long enough,” she said. “What more do we need to see? What more lies do we need to hear? If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd, and you push back on them!”
Kirk and Owens, of course, do not belong to Trump’s Cabinet, but you can hardly count on the pea-brains who belong to anarchist organizations like Antifa to figure out the difference. To them, ANY and ALL conservative speech is fascism, and they are willing to use any means necessary to shut it down. To have members of Congress like Waters support and encourage this kind of harassment is shocking and irresponsible. And yes, she absolutely bears some portion of the blame for what happened in Philly.
And when one of these confrontations (inevitably) turns violent? She’ll bear responsibility for that as well.
