Defiant Joe Biden to Trump: “You’re Not Going to Destroy Me”
While still failing to provide any explanation for why his son, Hunter, was paid millions to come work for Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings despite having no experience in the sector, Joe Biden lashed out at President Donald Trump this week in a defiant statement released to the media. Biden, whose role in pressuring Ukrainian leaders to fire a prosecutor who was investigating Burisma in 2014 is under scrutiny by…well, by Republicans, since the mainstream media has already exonerated him…showed some signs of life in the statement, but he certainly didn’t clear his name.
“Let me make something clear to Trump and his hatchet men and the special interests funding his attacks against me,” Biden said. “I’m not going anywhere. You’re not going to destroy me. And you’re not going to destroy my family. I don’t care how much money you spend or how dirty the attacks get.”
Trump should have just tweeted, “Ditto.”
It’s pretty amusing, after all, that Biden is getting so indignant about these “attacks.” Um, what attacks, Joe? The media is utterly uninterested in the corruption that’s right under their noses. Rudy Giuliani has gone to great lengths to provide the press with the information they need to get started on this investigation. Instead, they’re running stories saying, “Oh, hey, these Republican senators from back in the day also wanted the Ukrainian prosecutor fired.” Yeah? So? Does that change the fact that there’s an obvious conflict of interest problem for the vice president?
Meanwhile, every newspaper in the country is filled with stories of Trump’s impending DOOM in ways they haven’t been since…oh, since just before Mueller testified. And a thousand times before that. Want to feel sorry for someone whose life is getting destroyed? Spare a thought for the president, who hasn’t been able to enjoy one SINGLE day in office without being the subject of this concerted witch hunt.
“I’m not backing down. And I’m not going to be distracted by the lies, smears, distortions and name calling. I’m going to let Congress do its job on impeachment. And I’m going to stay focused on your lives,” Biden continued in Reno.
Heh. I’m going to let my buddies on the Hill take care of the guy standing in between me and my presidential aspirations…and then I’ll just cruise on into the White House, wooo! It’s not a noble strategy, but we guess all’s fair in love and politics.
Not addressed by Biden: Any explanation for why he was photographed golfing with his son and another Burisma executive in 2014. After telling the media that he had “never discussed” Hunter’s overseas business with his son, Biden might have been asked by that same media to address the photo.
But then, who are we kidding?
