Democrats apparently don’t know when to leave well enough alone, and their Kavanaugh Derangement Syndrome (a closely-related ailment to the Trump Derangement Syndrome that has already eaten its way through the party) could be their ruination. Incensed after losing the fight to keep Brett Kavanaugh off the Supreme Court, party leaders are telling anyone who will listen that they will not stop at the vote. In fact, they are essentially telling their constituents: Put us in power in November, and we’ll impeach this guy off the court.
“In purposefully limiting the FBI investigation, it is clear the Republicans were not seeking the truth,” Rep. Nancy Pelosi said on Saturday. She is filing a Freedom of Information Act request for documents pertaining to the investigation. “They were seeking cover to do what they wanted to do anyway. To add insult to injury, they blocked the public’s access to the report.”
Just imagine being a Democrat right now and having the unmitigated gall to call what REPUBLICANS have done an “insult” or an “injury.” The Republicans have bent over backwards to accommodate Democrats in this farcical distortion of a confirmation hearing. Gave them everything they wanted, despite the fact that they deserved none of it.
And it still isn’t good enough. It isn’t good enough because the Democrats didn’t get what they wanted. You want to talk about an insult, Nancy Pelosi? The insult is that you stand up there and pretend that YOU wanted to “seek the truth” in this matter. You didn’t want truth, you wanted victory. And now that you’ve been handed defeat instead, you don’t have the sense to understand that the battle is over. You lost. Get over it.
Man, these Democrats really have a hard time realizing that, don’t they?
Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) made the threats explicit in comments to The New York Times this weekend. Nadler said that if House Democrats took victory in November, it would be impeachment time for Brett Kavanaugh.
“The Senate having failed to do its proper constitutionally mandated job of advise and consent,” he said, “we are going to have to do something to provide a check and balance, to protect the rule of law and to protect the legitimacy of one of our most important institutions.”
Um, how is it that the Senate “failed” to do its job? Was there not a vote? Did Kavanaugh not win that vote? What’s the problem?
The only problem, as it were, is that the Democrats lost and now they are proceeding to throw a temper tantrum.
