Elizabeth Warren Can’t Bring Herself to Defend American Citizens
It was a softball question, to be honest. And frankly, it wasn’t all that long ago that any politician in Washington could have knocked it out of the park, no matter what letter happened to be beside their name. And that should really concern us as Americans. Because what happened when Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) was on CNN this week is one of the starkest demonstrations yet of just how disgusting and out-of-touch the Democrats have become. At this point, we’re not just upset that they have a real chance of taking back the House in November; we’re upset that they have any representation on Capitol Hill at all. These are not good people, point blank.
Warren took some time away from the rez to sit down for an interview with CNN’s John Berman and the subject soon turned to the murder of Mollie Tibbetts, a 20-year-old Iowa girl who was allegedly killed by an illegal alien named Cristhian Bahena Rivera. Rivera was arrested this week after admitting to the crime and showing police where to find the body of his victim.
“I want to get one last question in here because it is a story, a very important story in the news, it has to do with Mollie Tibbetts, the young woman in Iowa who was murdered; her body believed to be found yesterday,” Berman said. “A person has been charged with it, this person is an undocumented immigrant. Mike Pence and the President have suggested the immigration laws need to be stronger so that people like this man who was accused of this murder were not in the country. Your reaction?”
This is just so easy that any bleeding heart Democrat in the history of the Senate could have gotten it right. You just play it straight. “Yes, John, it’s a terrible thing. We need to protect our country. We need to make sure illegal immigrants are kept out. We need to deport them.” It’s simple. When there is a matter of law enforcement in front of you, you take a hard line – ESPECIALLY when someone was just murdered! Now, maybe you don’t vote that way when you get back to Capitol Hill, maybe you do. But to give the answer Warren gave? Just…wow.
“I’m so sorry for the family here and I know this is hard not only for the family but for the people in her community, the people throughout Iowa,” she said before veering off the track. “But one of the things we have to remember is we need an immigration system that is effective that focuses on where real problems are.
“Last month I went down to the border and I saw where children had been taken away from their mothers and I met with those mothers who had been lied to, who didn’t know where their children were, who hadn’t had a chance to talk to their children, and there was no plan for how they would be reunified with their children,” she continued. “I think we need immigration laws that focus on people who pose a real threat. And I don’t think mamas and babies are the place that we should be spending our resources. Separating a mama from a baby does not make this country safer.”
Beyond the fact that the phrase “separating mamas and babies” makes us gag, it’s just extraordinary that this Democrat cannot stay focused on a young woman’s murder long enough to condemn the practices that left her vulnerable. No, we have to immediately turn to “mamas and their babies” at the border – mamas who, incidentally, were breaking the law when they entered this country.
But Warren’s answer is symptomatic of the modern Democratic Party: Protect illegal aliens at all costs.
And, as proven here, we do mean ALL costs.
