Gay Activists Don’t Want Parents Notified About LGBT Content in Schools
Iowa Republicans are trying to pass a new piece of legislation that would require public schools to inform parents about any LGBT-related content that they will be teaching their children. With this notification, schools will give parents the opportunity to request that their kids be pulled out of class during these occasions of controversial instruction, which could include information about sexual orientation, gender identity, or other aspects of the queer lifestyle.
In an interview with CNN this week, Iowa State Rep. Jeff Shipley (R) said that the bill was an important bridge between schools and parents.
“Because there are so many unknowns (with gender identity and sexual orientation), it just seemed like common sense to make sure parents are involved,” Shipley said. “Because when parents aren’t involved, they tend to get upset.”
Of course, to the left and the gay activists, all of this stuff was figured out 1,000 years ago and it’s just a mystery as to why the rest of us only found out about it the day before yesterday. It’s completely natural and right for a man to marry a man, and it always has been, bigot! Furthermore, who is to say what is a man and what isn’t? That’s for every individual to decide on their own, you ignorant…you ignorant…WHITE MALE! Yeesh, get with the times – you’re slowing us down on introducing the next bizarre perversion into the American mainstream, yo.
Naturally, they are all very upset at even the idea of notifying parents about this content.
“This bill is harmful to LGBTQ Iowans,” proclaimed the nonprofit activism group One Iowa Action. “It will restrict educators from discussing sexual orientation and gender identity.”
Gee, remember when school was about things like history and science and math?
“The bill would marginalize and discriminate against LGBTQ students by mandating that they and their sexual orientation or gender identity must be hidden and not discussed,” said ACLU communications director Victoria Fowler. “Teachers, rightly, have raised concerns about what would and would not need parental approval, citing examples as fundamental as whether or not they could mention that presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg is making history as an openly gay presidential candidate.”
So…don’t mention it? Or do?
We’re pretty sure, either way, this isn’t exactly what Iowa lawmakers and parents are concerned about. We’re fairly confident that they’re more concerned about education that comes packaged with a clear political agenda, most of which they don’t agree with. This agenda isn’t being taught as “just one opinion,” however, it’s being taught to kids as if it was settled science. You can be gay! You can be trans! You can be a nonbinary pansexual bluebird! Being queer isn’t just equal to being straight…it’s a tiny bit better!
Sorry, but the mere fact that the left is fighting this hard to keep families out of the loop is all the proof you need to know that something shady is going on.
