ICONIC: J.K. Rowling Won’t Back Down From Angry Transgender Army
J.K. Rowling, the ultra-successful author of the “Harry Potter” series, will never be mistaken for a conservative. She has spent almost as much time writing anti-Trump tweets over the last four years as she has writing fiction. But she is nonetheless in the process of being “canceled” by the rabidly intolerant left – well, to the extent that you CAN cancel someone who is already a billionaire. Why? Because she absolutely refuses to swallow the inane propaganda emanating from men in dresses and their countless liberal allies.
“It isn’t hate to speak the truth,” Rowling tweeted earlier this week, much to the horror of the “trans women are women” army that populates social media.
After receiving the usual nonsensical backlash about how she was “literally killing” transgender people with her opinion, Rowling decided she’d had enough of tip-toeing around the issue. Instead of meekly backing down like most celebrities who find themselves accused of wrongthink, she wrote a 3,000 word essay that could – if read widely enough – actually change some minds on this topic.
“I’m concerned about the huge explosion in young women wishing to transition and also about the increasing numbers who seem to be detransitioning (returning to their original sex), because they regret taking steps that have, in some cases, altered their bodies irrevocably, and taken away their fertility. Some say they decided to transition after realizing they were same-sex attracted, and that transitioning was partly driven by homophobia, either in society or in their families,” she wrote.
Or this – one of the most powerful passages: “It isn’t enough for women to be trans allies. Women must accept and admit that there is no material difference between trans women and themselves. But, as many women have said before me, ‘woman’ is not a costume. ‘Woman’ is not an idea in a man’s head. ‘Woman’ is not a pink brain, a liking for Jimmy Choos or any of the other sexist ideas now somehow touted as progressive. Moreover, the ‘inclusive’ language that calls female people ‘menstruators’ and ‘people with vulvas’ strikes many women as dehumanizing and demeaning.”
Nailed it.
The most extraordinary part of the whole trans-women-are-women movement is how readily feminists have accepted this doctrine. For our entire lives, we’ve watched these women go hard (if not overboard) in their push for female equality. And then, all of a sudden and all at once, they decided that if men wanted to put on pretty dresses and call themselves women? Why, that’s just wonderful! Let them into our bathrooms! Let them into our SPORTS! Let them push us aside and start speaking on behalf of our gender! What could be better?
For more than thirty years, those feminists have fought to erase traditional gender roles. Now, the Great Transgender Propaganda Train says that if you are a boy who prefers playing with Barbie and putting on Mom’s high heels, you may actually be a girl trapped in the wrong body. And what do the feminists say? They say that if you speak a word of truth about biological sex, you’re a hateful bigot who wants trans people to commit suicide.
Bravo to J.K. Rowling for standing up to this lunatic mob. We firmly believe that she is a voice for the silent, but overwhelming, majority.
