Is It Okay to Have Kids? Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Weighs In.
It’s only been a few weeks since Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shocked the nation with her prediction that the world would be ending in just 12 short years, thanks to the out-of-control warming of the planet. And it’s only been a couple of weeks since she and Sen. Ed Markey released one of the most outrageous pieces of legislation in congressional history: The Green New Deal – a bill so bad that it caused even some of AOC’s admirers to hide in embarrassment.
Alas, none of this has properly shamed Ocasio-Cortez herself, who apparently thrives off bad publicity. So she’s at it again, now telling her Instagram followers that it’s time to address some very serious issues: Namely, is it still all right to have kids?
“Our planet is going to hit disaster if we don’t turn this ship around and so it’s basically like, there’s a scientific consensus that the lives of children are going to be very difficult,” Ocasio-Cortez said on an Instagram livestream on Sunday. “And it does lead, I think, young people to have a legitimate question, you know, ‘Is it okay to still have children?'”
Have any young people actually ever had that question? Like, young people outside of cults like the Sunrise Movement, we mean.
Speaking of the Sunrise Movement, though, a group of their rabid members headed over to Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s office on Friday, where they were summarily put in their place by the elderly Democrat. We don’t often find ourselves on Feinstein’s side, but damn, that just goes to show you how annoying and arrogant these nu-leftists have become.
“You know what’s interesting about this group?” Feinstein told the whippersnappers. “I’ve been doing this for 30 years. I know what I’m doing. You come in here, and you say it has to be my way or the highway. I don’t respond to that. I’ve gotten elected, I just ran. I was elected by almost a million-vote plurality. And I know what I’m doing. So you know, maybe people should listen a little bit.”
Burn.
The only reason we bring that up is because Ocasio-Cortez mentioned it in her Instagram video (in between chopping up vegetables and “being cute and hip” for her followers).
“This idea that ‘I’ve been working on this for x-amount of years,’ um, it’s like not good enough,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “Like, we need a universal sense of urgency, and people are like trying to introduce watered-down proposals that are frankly going to kill us. A lack of urgency is going to kill us.”
Like, totally, ya know?
And like, if dunces like Ocasio-Cortez are going to be running the show in a few years, then like, maybe not having kids is a good idea after all…
