Joe Biden: Absolutely, Little Kids Should Be Able to Change Genders!
While the left was freaking out about President Trump’s failure to properly condemn QAnon over on NBC Thursday night, we found ourselves much more concerned with something Joe Biden said at his own town hall event one network over. Asked at the ABC event about how Donald Trump (somehow?) took rights away from her transgender child, Biden made it clear that he supports little kids being able to magically change from boy to girl and back again according to their whims.
“The idea that an 8-year-old child or a 10-year-old child decides, ‘You know, I decided I want to be transgender, that’s what I think I’d like to be, it [would] make my life a lot easier,’ there should be zero discrimination,” Biden said. “And what’s happening is, too many transgender women of color are being murdered. They’re being murdered.”
That last part is somewhat of a non sequitur, but that platitude has become a hallmark of Democratic politics. And we’re not saying it’s right that trans women of color (read: Black men who wear dresses) should be killed, but damn, we’re talking about a micropercentage of a micropercentage at this point. Doesn’t anyone ever sit and wonder how these terribly tiny portions of the American population suddenly grew to have such a presence in left-wing politics? Isn’t just a little odd?
Well, there’s a whole lot odd about the transgender debate in our culture these days, and it doesn’t get much odder than a presidential candidate endorsing the idea that 8-year-old kids should be encouraged to swap genders whenever they feel so inclined.
“Joe Biden tonight said 7 and 8 year olds should be given the authority to be ‘transgender,’ despite data proving that the vast majority of kids with gender confusion outgrow it by puberty. We’re talking life-altering, body-harming decisions made by 1st graders,” said conservative analyst Allie Beth Stuckey.
As a follow-up, Biden was asked how he would protect transgender people, to which he replied: “I will flat out just change the law, eliminate those executive orders.”
Someone should probably tell him that the president doesn’t have that authority.
But then, based on his take on transgender children, Biden should be told quite a few things. Hopefully, American voters will let him hear the message loud and clear on November 3rd.
