Leaked documents reveal some of the curious ways the media has bent over backwards to treat Hillary Clinton like the living savior of America.
The first, an email from 2015 obtained by The Daily Caller, shows an MSNBC producer offering some assurances in exchange for access to the Clinton team. Sheara Braun, a producer on the “All in with Chris Hayes” program, wrote to Clinton campaign spokeswoman Adrienne Elrod:
“As you guys have probably seen, we’ve been airing a ‘Hillary Clinton for Millennials’ segment on our program every night this past week. The point of the segment is basically to inform young people about all of the crap and nonsense that Sec. Clinton and President Clinton (but mostly Sec. Clinton) had to face back in the 90s when President Clinton was running for office…everything from cookie-gate to stand-by-your-man-gate to Hillarycare.”
Braun, pandering to Elrod in an attempt to get either Hillary or a member of the campaign to come on the air, continued her pitch without the slightest amount of shame:
“The point isn’t to dwell on the past but the point is to talk about this amazing, intelligent woman who probably faced more nonsense back in the day because she is a woman…and she continues to have to face it.”
Finally, she closes with a line that no narcissist could resist:
“She is smarter than most men and more qualified than most men to be president.”
The second, published by the Washington Free Beacon, shows that Hillary Clinton was given questions ahead of time before going on the Steve Harvey Show in February. In an email from Clinton’s aides to Hillary herself, she’s told that her team has “coordinated closely with the show’s producers on the script and format of the show.”
According to the Beacon:
Questions included were about Clinton’s granddaughter, the former secretary of State’s pizza preferences — thin crust versus deep dish — and her support for gun control policies.
These leaks aren’t exactly shocking, but they do give you some insight into how little you should trust what you see on TV.
Of course, when Hillary Clinton is involved, that goes without saying.
