“Will be in Disney next week and def going to the #HallOfPresidents on my last day in the park. Taking suggestions on what to throw at Trump.”
So tweeted actor and comedian Jay Malsky on December 20th. Malsky, whose career sometimes has him dressing up as Hillary Clinton on stage, did not actually throw anything at the animatronic Donald Trump while visiting Disney World, but he did manage to make such a fool of himself that he was escorted out of the Hall of Presidents by security. As documented by his own cell phone video, Malsky chanted “LOCK HIM UP!” over and over again while the animatronic Trump – a new addition to the attraction – recited an uplifting speech about American progress to a crowd of vacationers.
Just when you thought “pussyhats” would be the most embarrassing moment for the Resistance.
Like seriously? People can’t even go to Disney World without hearing the unhinged rantings of a liberal? How did these people get so entitled? Barack Obama was in office for a long time, but it wasn’t THAT long. It’s like half the country has forgotten that, yeah, not everyone is a blueblooded liberal Democrat. In fact, the other half the country had to hold its collective nose for the last eight years while you yahoos tried to turn America into a second-rate socialist, backwater, Eurotrash hellpit. We thought we made quite a bit of noise, but apparently none of it penetrated your bubble, because you were shocked – SHOCKED – when Trump came out of nowhere and made mincemeat of your precious little agenda. And now you’re so confused and upset you’re screaming at a kid’s theme park attraction!
Oh, but it gets better, because Malsky actually has the temerity to lecture anyone who has a problem with his inane stunt.
“Anyone that’s upset I disrupted a family vacation can check their privilege,” he told TheWrap, “and consider getting mad about the thousands of children being taken away from their parents because of Trump’s racist immigration policies, or the families of the hundreds of trans Americans murdered each year by transphobic and homophobic people, or the negative impacts of the tax bill on poor and middle-income Americans.”
Well, at least this statement makes it clear that Malsky is genuine when it comes to his nuttiness and wasn’t (just) looking for a cheap blast of publicity. Disney might need to start patting people down before they go into the Hall of Presidents; unlike the animatronics, the Resistance doesn’t have an “off” switch.
