Liberals Outraged at Amy Coney Barrett Supporters Calling Her “ACB”
Just when you thought that “manspreading” on the subway was the most ridiculous thing that liberals would ever get mad about, along comes 2020 and you realize that there is no scandal too stupid for leftists to sink their teeth into. In a year where people you might have once thought were reasonable are calling for the complete abolition of police, we can’t say we’re surprised. Even so, we couldn’t help but laugh when they decided to get angry about the fact that supporters of Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett started referring to her as “ACB.”
Like, really?
When we first caught wind of this tempest-in-a-teapot, we were mistakenly certain that leftists were angry that “ACB” sounds a little too much like “ACAB,” which they of course use to denote their hatred of police – All Cops Are Bastards. We figured this was just anger about conservatives stealing – or at least half-stealing – their cozy little acronym. Taking it back, as it were.
It turns out that it’s even stupider than that, though.
“Please stop calling her ‘ACB’. It demeans #RBG and the rest of us,” one leftist wrote on Twitter.
“Conservatives calling this woman ‘ACB’ make me sick,” complained another user. “She will never be RBG.”
“They’re stealing RGB‘s nickname on top of her seat,” yet another leftist whined. “ACB didn’t earn this. The GOP is sick and cruel.”
LOL.
Yes, they’re really mad because “ACB” is a three-letter short nickname, just like the “Notorious RGB” title they’ve been bestowing upon Ruth Bader Ginsburg. To these bottom-feeding, brainless numbskulls, it’s the final insult.
“Applying Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s nickname to Amy Coney Barrett is deliberately degrading,” wrote Slate’s Dahlia Lithwick. “The White House rollout of Judge Amy Coney Barrett as candidate for the seat has gone beyond erasing Ginsburg’s legacy—they are stealing the trappings of that legacy and stripping it for parts.
“There are now grotesque GOP T-shirts that imply that 60 years of unprecedented and brilliant legal advocacy by Ginsburg could simply be reappropriated by someone else because she too is a woman in possession of three names,” she continued. “This comedic implication—that Barrett is the natural inheritor of Ginsburg’s legacy—is depraved.”
Oh man, these people really have to work overtime to find things to be outraged about.
