Several states have laws percolating in their legislatures aimed at restoring fairness and scientific accuracies as a balance against transgendermania, but Idaho is the first state to put those laws on the books. Gov. Brad Little signed two bills into law on Monday, putting Idaho at the front of the pack when it comes to defending women, pushing back against the unscientific, radical transgender agenda, and making biology great again.
One piece of legislation will see to it that transgender people must keep the sex on their birth certificate the way that it was at birth; the other will prohibit transgender “females” from competing in sports reserved for real women and girls.
You will not be surprised to learn that the governor’s actions have sparked immense fury among the pro-transgender lobby.
“Tonight, on the eve of Transgender Day of Visibility and while the United States is overwhelmed with a massive public health crisis, Idaho Governor Brad Little passed legislation targeting some of the most vulnerable members of the LGBTQ community – transgender children,” said GLAAD’s associate director of transgender representation, Alex Schmider. “Although medical experts, sport governing bodies, and Idaho’s major employers have spoken out against these two bills, Governor Little has instead sided with discrimination. Now, more than ever, transgender people need to be supported, not subjected to state-sponsored discrimination and suffering.”
“We condemn Governor Little’s actions and the actions of dozens of Idaho legislators who are so focused on pleasing their bigoted base instead of doing what is right,” said Mistie Tolman, Idaho director for Planned Parenthood Votes.
Good to see that Planned Parenthood can support all manner of bad causes, and not just abortion. Amazing how much money they have to throw around. Maybe we should remember that the next time they come crawling to the federal government for a handout.
You know, we’re somewhat neutral – or at least, not AS bothered – about the whole birth certificate thing. It seems as if the federal courts have already spoken on this issue, and the law is probably setting Idaho up to fail. If a transgender person really wants to change their birth certificate, and they can do so without throwing our records into disarray, we suppose we could live with it. Perhaps there could be some compromise where the change to gender can be made, but anyone reviewing the certificate can see that it was edited later in life.
This other matter is far more important. To allow transgender “females” to compete in women/girls’ sports leagues is to essentially say that there’s no such thing as women/girls’ sports leagues anymore. That’s a terrible Title IX violation and it’s an awful injustice to actual, biological girls who fought long and hard to have their own space of competition. It’s still shocking to us that feminists are taking the side of the transgenders on this one.
Just goes to show that their priorities have been badly misplaced for a long time.
