If you thought the left’s undying animus for President Donald Trump would begin to fade away after the election, think again. These rabid Democrats are unceasingly spiteful of the man who embarrassed them in 2016, upset their new global order with his America First agenda, and made them look like absolute fools for four years straight. This was never supposed to happen, and Democrats are bound and determined to make sure We The People never get to disrupt their plans for us every again.
First, that means exacting revenge against the man who started a full-scale political revolution. And revenge is exactly what Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) had in mind when he released a statement on Tuesday calling for Trump to be prosecuted and incarcerated for “crimes against the United States” upon leaving the White House.
“He has endangered our national security. He ripped families apart. He poisoned the Census. He has personally profited from his office. He has attacked our elections and sought to throttle democracy. He was rightly impeached by the House of Representatives. He has engaged in treachery, in treason. He has all but given up on governing and protecting our nation and if he had a shred of dignity he would resign today,” wrote Pascrell.
Like, we could certainly take this apart one by one, but what’s the point? The items that aren’t outright fictitious lies are just partisan talking points from the left. We’re not legal experts, but we’re pretty sure that it would be difficult to bring a criminal case against an ex-president because he “engaged in treachery,” whatever that’s supposed to mean.
Pascrell said that if Trump tries to use his pardoning powers to shield his staff from prosecution, that should be viewed as “obstruction of justice.”
That sounds less like a legal opinion and more like a blowhard trying to impress his constituents back home in New Jersey. Hope you’re proud, voters!
“This is now the Left’s goal – throw President Trump, his administration officials, his family and his supporters in prison,” tweeted Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL). “This is where we are now. Disgusting.”
