Now Trump Can’t Even Deport Illegal Immigrant Families
Well, it looks like it’s time once again for the Supreme Court to jump in and issue another judicial smackdown to the liberal judges who have made it their life’s work to thwart the President of the United States. And we include in that category – liberal judges – some who were appointed by previous Republican presidents, like George W. Bush. Because when it comes to illegal immigration and the Trump agenda, being aligned with the Bush family is nearly as bad as being appointed by Barack Obama.
On Monday, U.S. District Court Judge Dana Sabraw ruled that the Trump administration may not deport any illegal immigrants caught up in the family separation situation until Justice Department lawyers respond to an ACLU court filing. In that filing, the ACLU fretted that, once the administration had reunited the families, they would immediately put them on a bus back to their home countries.
They cited “persistent and increasing rumors that mass deportations may be carried out imminently and immediately upon reunification.”
The ACLU argued that these illegal immigrants deserved a week in which to decide whether or not to ask the U.S. for asylum.
The decision, wrote the ACLU, “cannot be made until parents not only have had time to fully discuss the ramifications with their children, but also to hear from the child’s advocate or counsel, who can explain to the parent the likelihood of the child ultimately prevailing in his or her own asylum case if left behind in the U.S.”
Sabraw, a Bush-appointee, agreed to block all deportations for a week while giving the Justice Department a chance to submit a response to the ACLU’s ravings. At that time, he said he would rule on the merits of the request.
This is infuriating and has absolutely nothing to do with immigration law, the powers of the executive branch, or anything else found in any law book in the country. This is about left-wing, pro-immigration activism and this judge’s sense of moral certainty. We’re right back where we were when judges all across the country were putting a halt to President Trump’s travel ban. The president has every right to deport these illegals, and it is the LEFT to blame for the fact that they will be deported faster than they might otherwise have been. Donald Trump was elected to secure our borders, and he is determined to do so.
The liberal judiciary and the ACLU might not like it, but ultimately, the law will be upheld.
