Obama’s Love for Illegals is Hurting Black Americans
President Obama remains a popular figure among African-Americans in his final year in the White House, and his adoration in that community is helping Hillary Clinton triumph over Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primaries. But if blacks were to really examine the effects of his immigration policies, they might realize that the nation’s first black president has been the worst thing to happen to them in generations.
According to U.S. Civil Rights commissioner Peter Kirsanow, illegal immigration has taken a costly toll on black Americans. Testifying before the Senate on Wednesday, Kirsanow said, “Unequivocally, the wages and employment levels of black Americans are disproportionately adversely affected by illegal immigration. Particularly when it pertains to the effect on black males.”
Kirsanow said that because black Americans tend to be over-represented in the unskilled labor market, they are competing directly with illegal immigrants for jobs at the bottom of the employment ladder.
“It’s not because low skilled American workers, regardless of race, are unwilling to perform such jobs, it is that they are unwilling to do such jobs at the cut-rate wages and sometimes sub-standard working conditions tendered to illegal immigrants,” Kirsanow said.
Republicans, including the three men still competing for the presidential nomination, need to begin hammering this message every time they get in front of a microphone. For years, this party has done almost nothing to fight back against the accusations of racism coming from the left. They just ignore them, content to let Democrats dominate among black voters. They’ve written them off as a lost cause, and there’s simply no reason for it. There is no more destructive force in the black community than the Democratic Party, and Republicans are utterly unwilling to come out and say it.
More specifically, this argument would fit perfectly into Donald Trump’s campaign message. Black activists, brainwashed by years of liberal nonsense, have joined pro-immigration groups in protesting his candidacy. They’ve bought into the mainstream media’s baseless accusations of racism. They see these one-off incidents like the Fayetteville rally and assume that Trump’s some kind of thinly-disguised white supremacist.
Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. Trump may not get up there and shed crocodile tears for random criminals, but he will do more for black America than any bleeding-heart Democrat. Same goes for Ted Cruz and any other Republican who understands what immigration is doing to our economy.
True conservatives have known this for years, but the message never goes past the walls of political division. Instead, Republicans have hitched their wagon to the immigration train, desperate to stop the Democrats from convincing another racial minority that their party is built on racism. They need to stop playing defense and start telling the unvarnished truth about what Obama has done to this country.
