Of Course an Illegal Alien Sitcom is Coming to TV
Well, we can’t even feign shock about this news. Maybe we didn’t see it coming, but now that it’s here, it seems as inevitable as the World Series, Christmas, and that ventriloquist girl winning America’s Got Talent. Today’s media conglomerates seem at least as interested in “resisting” President Donald Trump as they are in actually making money, so it was with great fanfare that ABC announced a new sitcom called “Sanctuary Family” coming soon to the network.
The show will apparently involve a married couple who invite their illegal immigrant nanny and her family to come live with them. Hijinks and culture clash ensue, but the network promises that everyone will learn the important lesson that “the differences both families have aren’t as significant as their similarities.”
Awww.
Deadline points out that the sitcom will be only one of many immigrant-focused television shows coming to the airwaves in the next year. Both CBS and The CW have immigrant-based dramas in the pipeline. CBS’s fare is called “Have Mercy,” and it will feature a Hispanic doctor who practices medicine illegally since she cannot, as an illegal immigrant, get a proper medical license. On the CW, we’ll have “Illegal,” which focuses on a teenager coming to terms with his family’s not-quite-legal status. Both shows are being produced by “Jane the Virgin” actor Gina Rodriguez, whose original show also focuses quite a lot on illegal immigration.
Similar projects are also expected from CBS and Fox.
Now imagine if there was a drama coming out about the trials and tribulations of an ICE officer, trying his best to clean American cities of the undocumented criminals victimizing the community. Imagine if there was an action series about the Border Patrol headed to NBC for the fall. What would be the reaction to a miniseries that chronicled the lives of four families after losing someone to illegal immigrant violence?
Riots in the streets? We don’t think that’s too wild a prediction, do you?
The shame of it is that this kind of propaganda moves the needle. And we’re not talking here about “Hispanic acceptance” or some other kind of noble cause. We’re talking about slowly but surely warming Americans to the idea that it’s a GOOD thing when our laws are ignored. That we should just take everyone in and see what happens. Why not? Illegal immigrants are hilarious!
Boy oh boy, are we headed for trouble.
