If you watch the mainstream media these days, there are plenty of reasons to feel pessimistic about the state of the Trump administration. The president’s poll numbers are dropping, the fate of the Republican healthcare bill is, at best, uncertain, and the investigation into Trump’s “collusion” with Russia seems to grow a new tentacle with every passing day. Was Election Day 2016 the peak of our mighty battle for the soul of America? Is it all downhill from here?
Perhaps. But there are good reasons to believe that Trump will reign victorious when all is said and done. Here are three things to remember as our man in the White House strives to make America great again:
The Democrats Are Overreaching
This may be the biggest reason that Trump will ultimately reign victorious. Democrats, without the slightest shred of evidence, are already talking openly about impeachment. They don’t have the goods, plain and simple. They think this kind of rhetoric is going to help them win in 2018, but they might find that it backfires. They’ve set expectations so high that there is almost no chance in hell that they can meet them. Merely by NOT being a traitor to the country, Trump has already won.
The Media Has Gone Nuts
It’s only a matter of time before Americans get sick and tired of the constant “Trump drama.” It played well last year, and it has worked for the ratings so far in 2017, but there’s only so much we can take. There’s going to come a time, very soon, when we collectively wake up and say, Hey, what else is going on in the world? And when that time comes, we might also realize that the MSM has been feeding up bucketloads of bias for the last two years. Another HUGE Trump win awaits.
The Left is Cannibalizing Itself
There was a time, not that long ago, when liberal Americans were the defenders of free speech. Now, things have changed. You have liberal Millennials taking over colleges because they can’t stand to hear the slightest whiff of conservative thought. You have feminism eating itself because it doesn’t know what the hell to do with transgender women. You have nutball leftists shooting at congressmen and nutball writers defending the violence. It’s all too much. By the time the next election arrives, the Democratic Party may be stunned to realize that it’s actually LOSING popularity because it failed to reign in the insane fringe.
And to this, you can add a (possible) fourth reason: If the economy keeps growing the way it has been since January, no amount of election-year chicanery – short of actual, illegal, treasonous collusion – will be able to bring Trump down. The American people will let a lot on nonsense slide if we are sitting on fat bank accounts with good jobs and plenty of security. Hell, we might send Putin a national Thank You card.
There were many times last year that it seemed as though all hope was lost. On November 8, however, Trump was the last man standing. The man is a fighter and a survivor.
His enemies may be surprised at just how difficult it will be to take him – and his supporters – down.
