Reliably Racist Spike Lee: “There is a War on the Black Male”
Anderson Cooper, a CNN “journalist” who has been at the forefront of media liberals mischaracterizing the events in Ferguson, Missouri and lionizing the dead criminal Michael Brown, had Spike Lee on the program Tuesday night to talk about the ongoing protests. Lee, who never misses a chance to bring his disgusting racial bias to the table and use it for financial gain, was all-too-happy to indulge Cooper’s racist fantasies.
Anderson Cooper: So what do you say to those largely white Americans who see what is happening here and maybe don’t understand what is happening here or disagree with what is happening here? You know what many people said to me just today, look, this isn’t just about Michael Brown, this is about generations of issues that have gone on in this community and continued to go on in this community. Is that how you see it?
Spike Lee: I see it. This is about Trayvon Martin. This is about Jordan Davis, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Ezell, who was shot a couple days ago, today in St. Louis a couple blocks away another African-American man who was shot and killed today. They said he had a knife. I just think there is a war on the black male and it’s tearing the country apart in my opinion.
The shame of it is that Lee is not an idiot. Earlier in the interview, he expressed some viable thoughts about what was needed to restore order in Ferguson, preferring a calmer, more relaxed police response than the one we’ve seen from Ferguson PD and the National Guard troops. Pointing machine guns and throwing tear gas is how you quell a riot, but things go topsy-turvy when you introduce those elements before they’re warranted. This is at the heart of the problem in this St. Louis suburb, and it only serves to validate those members of the protest who believe excessive force took Brown’s life.
But then he goes astray when he gets into the racial aspect of it. Lee has built his film career on the back of examining racism in America, but all too often his attempts to illuminate the problem only contribute to it. Like the police who bring tanks to a protest, Lee turns every polemic into another form of racism. The Jesse Jacksons, Al Sharptons, and Spike Lees of the world never seem to recognize that progress for African Americans will never come by criticizing white people into submission. There is a history of oppression there, yes, of course. The story of the black man in America is filled with shame and horror.
But that oppression is simply not there anymore. To the extent that it is, it is propagated by liberal policies that conspire to keep minorities dependent on the federal government for their very lives. If you look at it through that lens, you can see that Lee is actually right when he says there’s a war against the black man in America today. On the other side of the battlefield, though, is not the white man. It is Lee, Obama, and any other liberal who thinks that the only way to bring black people up is to tear white people down.
Of course, no examination of this is complete without realizing that liberalism is a disease that decays the mind:
When you’re up against logic like that, you can only despair.
