In a report that is very unlikely to gain much traction in the U.S. due to the overwhelming oppression of political correctness and the out-of-balance power that the LGBT Mafia has over the American news media, Sky News in the UK is reporting that “hundreds” of young transgender people are now desperate to detransition and return to the markers of their true gender.
“The number of young people seeking gender transition is at an all-time high but we hear very little, if anything, about those who may come to regret their decision,” the report says. “There is currently no data to reflect the number who may be unhappy in their new gender or who may opt to detransition to their biological sex.”
Yes, well, when a subject is deemed too controversial for the public, it is simply ignored. If there’s even the slightest chance that a study’s result could end up exposing some uncomfortable truths about the world (i.e., go against the left’s agenda), those studies simply aren’t performed.
As it stands today, we are to understand that being transgender is just a normal thing that happens. It’s completely normal to be born in the “wrong” body. It’s not a mental illness. The only appropriate “cure” is to help the person transition into the gender of their choice. This could include hormones, surgery, or simply living day-to-day with the outer markers of the opposite gender. And while there is a small but vocal backlash from pediatricians and other doctors who recognize how insane it is to hand life-changing decisions to young people whose brains are not fully developed, this situation is, for the time being, treated as a perfect good for humanity.
But, as is completely predictable, not everyone who “transitions” to the other gender ends up happy about this decision later on.
From Sky News:
Hundreds of young transgender people are seeking help to return to their original sex, a woman who is setting up a charity has told Sky News. Charlie Evans, 28, was born female but identified as male for nearly 10 years before detransitioning. Charlie detransitioned and went public with her story last year – and said she was stunned by the number of people she discovered in a similar position.
“I’m in communication with 19 and 20-year-olds who have had full gender reassignment surgery who wish they hadn’t, and their dysphoria hasn’t been relieved, they don’t feel better for it,” she says. “They don’t know what their options are now.”
Charlie says she has been contacted by “hundreds” of people seeking help – 30 people alone in her area of Newcastle.
“I think some of the common characteristics are that they tend to be around their mid-20s, they’re mostly female and mostly same-sex attracted, and often autistic as well.”
This transgender trend may be just that – a trend that is giving unhappy young people a chance to escape what they perceive as miserable identities and exchange them for new ones. It is, at bottom, a marker of empty lives, a search for meaning in an increasingly godless society, and a desperate grasp for an answer to the ever-present question: “What’s wrong with me?” That we would even entertain the idea that gender dysphoria is normal or that it should be treated with transitioning is a sign of how unmoored our entire culture has become from anything resembling common sense, logic, science, or history. A small and relatively insignificant manifestation, maybe, but certainly not a victimless one.
