Congratulations to Eastern Lancaster County School District! While there are school districts in this country having trouble scraping together enough money to pay bus drivers, and many others which are unable to outfit classrooms with 21st century technology, this Pennsylvania district is apparently rolling in the dough.
We know this because they announced this week that they will hand $2.4 million to Garden Spot High School, which will use the money to eliminate gendered locker rooms and replace them with “zoned” facilities that students can choose as they so wish. And while it’s hard for us to imagine spending a single dollar to solve the imaginary crisis of figuring out where transgender students will change clothes, the district was all too happy to unanimously approve this woke project.
From Lancaster Online:
The step forward represents a “huge win” for Elanco students, district Superintendent Bob Hollister said.
“I think the privacy is going to be well-received,” he said.
Board President Glenn Yoder said the locker room project is about more than one student.
“This is going to be for the good of all students,” he said, adding that he predicts this design will become popular as more school districts evaluate privacy matters.
Well, that board member can say that this isn’t about one student, but it sure seems to us that’s exactly what it’s about. If this lone transgender student hadn’t kicked up a fuss about where he/she was going to change out for gym…would there be any need to do $2.4 million in renovations? Of course not. Indeed, there never was a need for this. At best, tell the kid to change in the janitor’s closet. Realistically, tell the kid that they will use the facility corresponding to their sex, and let’s be done with all of this silliness once and for all.
But that’s clearly not the direction of the country, so we get full-grown adults pretending as though they are doing anything more than burning taxpayer money at the behest of social justice warriors.
