Sky-High Taxes and Abortion on Demand: The 2020 Democrats Debate
The 2020 Democrats held their first debate this week on MSNBC, and it was a borefest of the highest proportions. Those that managed to stay awake through the entire thing were treated to a terrific view, however, of just how ravaged with utter leftist nonsense the Democratic Party has become. Between pandering to illegal immigrants through the gratuitous use of Spanish and pandering to African-Americans by trotting out their mixed-race kids, it also showed a party that has succumbed to the cancer of identity politics.
Oh, and did we mention just how BORING it was? President Trump hit the nail on the head with that one.
This was the first of a two-night debate event on MSNBC, so only about half of the “top” challengers were on the stage. No Bernie, no Biden, no Kamala Harris. Instead, we got a look at Elizabeth Warren, Beto O’Rourke, Cory Booker, Julian Castro, Bill de Blasio, and a few other yahoos who will not be president in this lifetime.
Let’s start with Beto, who showed conclusively that all the hype surrounding him was completely undeserved. In fact, watching him stiff-walk his way through this debate caused us to wonder why he ever became a “thing” in the first place. He is the antithesis of Trump, and not in the way Democrats might appreciate. He is so overly cautious and uncharismatic that he seemed at times like he was manufactured, not born. Suffice to say, he is no threat to win this thing.
On the opposite side of the spectrum? Well, maybe Booker? A little? He didn’t exactly tear up the stage, but he’ll probably see a bit of a bump from this performance. He put together some semblance of charisma, substance, and energy at least, which is more than most of his competitors can say.
As for the losers – the real losers? Well, that would be the American voters. You almost have to feel sorry for moderate Americans who don’t care for Trump. Because the Democratic Party has absolutely nothing to offer them at this point. Over the course of the night, we heard candidates support abolishing private health insurance, advocate for legalizing illegal immigration, demand abortion without restrictions, and champion the idea of confiscating our guns. One of them appeared to sympathize with the friggin’ Taliban! You do you, Tulsi Gabbard. You do you.
If we’re Joe Biden, we’re feeling pretty good right about now. Elizabeth Warren was the only one on stage who seemed like even half a threat, but the more America gets a close look at her radical agenda, the better it will be for the former Vice President.
As for the general election next year? Well, let’s put it this way: Trump had nothing to fear on that stage last night.
