There is No Reason to Give Into Christine Ford’s Demands
Let’s get this straight: No one held a gun to Christine Blasey Ford’s head and forced her to come forward with this story. SHE set this in motion. She is the one who contacted her congresswoman with a letter accusing Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her 36 years ago at a time (unknown) and place (unknown) in a manner that cannot be corroborated by a single other living soul. She is the one who decided to come out publicly after Dianne Feinstein outed her letter anonymously. She may or may not have been a victim all those years ago; she is NOT the victim currently. She is simply being asked to either prove her claim or sit down and shut up. She thinks she doesn’t need to do either, and she has an entire media/Democrat army backing her up on that ridiculous belief.
This week, after much wrangling, Ford finally agreed to testify on Thursday. Fine. But there’s no reason that Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee should cater to any of her demands, some of which were truly astounding. She didn’t want to be questioned by anyone who wasn’t a senator on the Judiciary Committee. This is so she can play the “all these old WHITE MEN” bullied me in that room! She wanted to testify AFTER Kavanaugh, so that she can tailor her testimony to work around his denials. She thinks she’s entitled to an FBI investigation, even though, from what we can tell thus far, there is no one else in America who can corroborate any aspect of her story.
She’s entitled to nothing. As far as we’re concerned, she hasn’t even offered enough proof to warrant a spot in the Senate chambers. You, me, or anyone else could lob a bomb like this against Kavanaugh. Why should she be believed? Why are so many people blindly ready to trust that she’s telling the truth? Has the world gone mad?
The truth is that Christine Blasey Ford simply wanted to lob this bomb from a distance and never be forced to confront cross examination. She is the manifestation of the feminist ideal, which is that when a woman says something happened, you can take it to the bank. And if she’s lying, well, that just serves men right for presiding over the evil patriarchy for all those years. Some innocent men HAVE to go down just so we can get some equal rights, dammit!
This is ludicrous, and so is the reaction to this professor. Come forward if you like. Tell your story. But if you have no proof, no corroborating witnesses, and you didn’t tell anyone about this little incident for nearly forty years, you’ll have to excuse our skepticism. And if you don’t like the terms of that agreement, then you can retract your accusation, publicly apologize to Judge Kavanaugh, and crawl back in the hole you came from.
Sorry, but our patience for this nonsense has run out.
