This is 2020: Elizabeth Warren Promises Free Sex Changes for Criminals
At a CNN town hall event focused on LGBT issues on Thursday, Sen. Elizabeth Warren changed her previous stance on taxpayer-funded sex change operations to come into alignment with the current insanity being sponsored by the far left.
“I will direct the Bureau of Prisons to end the Trump Administration’s dangerous policy of imprisoning transgender people in facilities based on their sex assigned at birth,” Warren said of her new plan. In other words, criminals will now get to choose if they want to be housed in a male prison or a female prison, depending on how they “feel on the inside.”
We can’t help but expect that there will be no such thing as a “male prison” before long, as all the prisoners decide they would rather be housed with the girls. But hey, maybe we’re just cynical old bastards who aren’t “woke” like Liz Warren (who knows a thing or two about making up an identity, come to think of it).
In 2012, Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren was asked about a Massachusetts court ruling that forced the state to pony up the funds for a convicted murderer’s sex operation. Warren, at the time, said (sensibly): “That’s not a good use of taxpayer dollars.” We couldn’t agree more. But at the CNN town hall event, Warren – newly sensitive to the needs of murderers suffering from gender dysphoria – acknowledged, “I think that was a bad answer. Everyone is entitled to the medical care that they need.”
Oh, we don’t disagree. It’s just that a sex change operation is hardly “medical care” and it is certainly not anything that anyone “needs.”
Not insofar that it should be funded by American taxpayers, anyway.
“Taxpayer support of this defies common sense,” Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh said.
Well of course it does. But then again, most of what Warren and the 2020 Democratic field says about policy fits that description, so why should this issue be any different?
Anyway, we suppose this locks up the all-important “transgender convicted criminal” voting bloc for Elizabeth Warren, a much-needed population of some 200 people who can’t actually cast a vote in the 2020 election. Can’t say we understand the strategy, but then, these are candidates who spend a disproportionate amount of their time pandering to illegal immigrants – another population that can’t vote.
We continue to doubt whether these radical fringe issues really appeal to the general electorate, but maybe we’re just naively hoping that America isn’t as far gone as the media makes us seem. Guess we’ll soon find out.
