In a highly-publicized one-on-one interview with ABC News anchor David Muir on Wednesday, President Donald Trump took the media to task for their collective failure to cover the anti-abortion March for Life – an annual event that rarely sees any attention from the mainstream press.
Trump brought up the disparity when Muir asked him about the Women’s March on Washington, a leftist protest event that took place the day after the inauguration.
“Let me just ask you while we’re standing outside, could you hear the voices from the Women’s March here in Washington?” Muir asked.
“No, I couldn’t hear them,” Trump replied. “The crowds were large, but you will have a large crowd on Friday, too, which is mostly pro-life people.”
Trump said that he’d spoken to organizers for the event who told him that they rarely get any television coverage for the march, regardless of how many people show up.
“You’re going to have a lot of people coming on Friday,” he said. “And I will say this, and I didn’t realize this. But I was told. You will have a very large crowd of people. I don’t know as large or larger. Some people said it will be larger. Pro-life people, and they say the press doesn’t cover them.”
Muir tried to back away from the issue. “I don’t want to compare crowd sizes again–”
But Trump was persistent.
“No, but let me just tell you, what you do say is that the press doesn’t cover them,” he said.
Well, there’s really no arguing that. As far as the liberal media is concerned, American women come in two flavors: Feminists who want to keep and expand abortion rights, and extremist conservatives who throw pig’s blood on innocent clinicians. They go out of their way to avoid talking about the huge number of women who are neither crazy nor liberal. The enormous number of women who simply believe that it is wrong to take the life of an unborn child. Is that really such a radical position that it has to be hidden from view?
Of course, it’s not that the position is “radical”; it’s exactly the opposite. It’s only by ignoring these women that the liberal media can keep their narrative afloat and make it look like “pro choice” is the moderate, “normal” political position. If you control what you show on television and you never show average, everyday conservative women on your programs…why…it’s like they don’t even exist!
Until, of course, the President of the United States calls you out on your own TV show…
