Trump Re-Commits to Agenda: We Won’t Rest Until Border is Secure
President Trump has faced an enormous amount of left-wing propaganda over the last two weeks as Democrats and their media cohorts try to paint him as a monster for doing nothing more or less than enforcing U.S. immigration laws.
On Friday, in a meeting with families who have lost loved ones to violence perpetrated by illegal immigrants, the president assured them and the country that he had not lost sight of the big picture. In some of his strongest statements yet on the subject, Trump said that he would not rest until the families had justice.
“We will not rest until our border is secure, our citizens are safe, and we finally end the immigration crisis once and for all,” Trump told the Angel Moms. “We want safety in our country. We want strong borders. We want people to come in, but we want them to come in the proper way.
“These are incredible families, incredible people,” the president continued. “Your loved ones have not died in vain.”
Trump harshly criticized the mainstream media for spending untold hours covering the plight of illegal immigrants while sparing no airtime whatsoever for the Americans who have been victimized by a broken, unsecured border.
“We’re gathered today to hear from the American victims of illegal immigration. You never hear this side,” said Trump. “These are the American citizens permanently separated from their loved ones. They’re not separated a day, two days. Permanently. Their loved ones were killed by illegal aliens. These are the families that the media ignores. These are the stories that Democrats and people that are weak on immigration — they don’t want to discuss, they don’t want to hear, they don’t want to see or talk about. The networks don’t bring cameras to their homes, or display the images of their incredible loved ones across the nightly news.”
No, no they do not.
This is such a powerful message, and it’s one that could be effective if you had Republicans other than only Donald Trump out there promoting. The left would have us believe that illegal immigration is a victimless crime, but thousands of American families would sharply disagree. These families have been torn apart by violence brought to this country by the very people Trump talked about in his opening campaign address. You’ll recall it as the one that convinced the Democrat-run media that Donald Trump was an incorrigible racist against Hispanics. But he was telling nothing other than the plain, unvarnished truth.
If only Washington were filled with more people willing to do the same.
