Trump Trolls the Left: Bernie “Would Have Won” if Not for Elizabeth Warren
After Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders finally brought his bruised and battered Socialist Train into the station on Wednesday, President Trump wasted no time in driving the wedge of division into the far-left’s already-fractured cement.
“Bernie Sanders is OUT!” Trump tweeted. “Thank you to Elizabeth Warren. If not for her, Bernie would have won almost every state on Super Tuesday! This ended just like the Democrats & the DNC wanted, same as the Crooked Hillary Fiasco.”
Oh, you’ve got to love it. Trump’s trolling right here is brilliant for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that he is 100% right…and everyone knows it. No, we don’t know for sure that Warren dropping out of the race before Super Tuesday would have given Bernie Sanders the victory, but it’s within the realm of possibility. Certainly, Warren and Sanders were splitting at least some portion of the progressive vote, allowing Biden and his Super Team of also-ran moderates to run the table. On the eve of the contest, Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar dropped out, giving Biden a clear path to the win. But Warren stayed in, all but dooming Sanders’ chances.
And yes, this is certainly how the Democrats wanted this to play out. And Bernie’s legion of young socialist voters know it to be true.
“With Bernie Sanders suspending his campaign, it’s all but official that the Democrat establishment got the candidate they wanted in Joe Biden, as well as the candidate President Trump will destroy in November,” said Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale. “President Trump is still disrupting Washington, DC, while Biden represents the old, tired way and continuing to coddle the communist regime in China. Democrat elites shoved Bernie Sanders to the side for a second time, leaving many of his supporters looking for a new home.”
Judging by some of the comments we’ve seen on social media, those supporters may or may not be voting for Trump in November…but a whole lot of them are definitely NOT voting for Joe Biden.
“Tearing up my ballot the second I get it in the mail. I’m not voting for Biden. Not a chance,” wrote one Reddit user in the official r/politics megathread about Sanders dropping out of the race.
“Bernie will always be my candidate,” wrote another. “I hope everyone enjoys four (plus) years of Trump. Hope it was worth. Have fun choosing between the lesser of two rapists.”
“DNC screwed Bernie supporters twice. Why would any of them ever support Dem again?” wrote a third.
There’s a ton of anger on the left about the way this primary went down, and that’s not going to go away in the next seven months. Bernie Sanders may not have had the kind of voter support he needed to win the nomination, but he’s got more than enough to deny Biden the presidency. And we’ve got a feeling that’s exactly what’s going to happen…whether Bernie himself likes it or not.
