Twitter Rejects Ads Using the Term “Illegal Alien”
U.S. law dictates that “illegal alien” is the correct legal terminology to describe someone who comes into the United States without proper authorization, but it has been deemed a term of hate by the tech overlords at Twitter. According to spokespeople from the Center for Immigration Studies, Twitter rejected several of their advertisements because they included the controversial term, proving yet again that the social media site is letting its liberal bias color its policies.
“Twitter is not allowing us to promote any tweets including the phrase ‘illegal alien(s),’ citing it as Hateful Content,” CIS posted on Tuesday. “However, ‘illegal alien’ has been used in both federal law and by the Supreme Court.”
Oh, but don’t you know? Those institutions are racist and hateful, too!
CIS went on to explain that Twitter rejected four of their tweets, all of which “referenced law enforcement, either at the border or in the interior.”
“One of the tweets,” they wrote, “contained a powerful Daily Caller video showing illegal aliens in camouflage carrying large backpacks across the border unimpeded.”
Backpacks, you say? Those must have been undocumented college students.
In all seriousness, this is not even slightly surprising anymore. None of it. Not Twitter’s liberal bias and sure as hell not their misguided loyalty to the New Rules of Political Correctness. This vocabulary creep that Democrats employ is, without a doubt, one of their most effective weapons against common sense, conservatism, and moral judgment. Through its enforcement – on social media and in mainstream journalism – Democrats can take any issue and twist it until it suits their agenda. And right now, there is nothing they’re more interested in twisting than the scourge of illegal immigration.
To convince the American people that it’s worse to enforce the law than it is to break it, Democrats have to first convince us that the law is not worth enforcing. That the people breaking it are not really criminals. That the law is unjust in the first place.
That’s a heavy load to carry if you’re arguing from the ground up, so why not just let some simple word changes do the work for you? If we stop SAYING they’re illegal aliens, people will eventually forget that they’re here…ILLEGALLY. And then, when Trump is rounding up plain old “immigrants” and deporting them, well, that sounds a whole lot worse, doesn’t it? Why doesn’t he just leave these poor folks alone?
Good to know that Twitter is, once again, doing its small part to contribute to the downfall of Western civilization.
