Two Lies Democrats are Telling About Whistleblower Complaint
According to the Democrats and their allies in the media, there are two major concerns regarding President Donald Trump’s phone call with the Ukrainian president.
One, of course, is that Trump supposedly used his foreign policy power to pressure another country’s leader to investigate his political opposition (the Bidens). This is a matter of some subjectivity, but the transcript of the call is there for anyone to read and decide for themselves. We don’t see how this is a major scandal, especially since there ARE legitimate concerns about Hunter Biden’s job with Burisma, to say nothing of Biden’s demand for a Ukrainian prosecutor to be fired. These things definitely deserve a full investigation, and Trump wasn’t wrong to demand one. But that’s just our opinion.
But here’s what else they say about that call. According to the official whistleblower’s complaint, the White House immediately shuttled notes and transcripts of the call into a special secure storage system in the National Security Council. And, since there was nothing of particular secrecy on the call, this proves that Trump officials were engaged in a coverup. Here’s where we move out of the realm of opinion and into the realm of fact. And it’s also where we can say for certain that Democrats are lying. Indeed, they are telling two different lies.
The first, that there was nothing of concern, national-security-wise, on the call. On Twitter, Undercover Huber did a nice job pulling this lie apart.
“A ‘White House official’ is quoted by the whistleblower (WB) as objecting to the storage of the MEMCON transcript of @realDonaldTrump call with Zelenskyy in a secure storage system in the NSC. This was wrong (a cover up) because it contained ‘nothing remotely sensitive’. Nothing!” Huber wrote.
“That’s categorically, 100% false,” he continued. “The President’s call with Zelenskyy contained references to both POTUS’s and the Ukrainian President’s opinions on multiple European countries and leaders, especially Germany/France and Merkel/Macron, as well as sanctions policy towards Russia. That’s why when originally classified the transcript was set at the SECRET, Original Classification Authority (ORCON), No Foreign Distribution (NOFORN) level.”
So that part of the lie is debunked. What about the second part – that it is extremely rare for call transcripts to be segregated in a special, secure system?
Well, ABC News (of all places) debunked this one, confirming that the White House has been doing this regularly with Trump’s calls since three of his communications with foreign leaders leaked to the media early on in his presidency.
“One former career intelligence official added that the administration ‘changed the dynamics of how these transcripts had been secured,’ reported Jonathan Karl.
So there you have it. This was no cover-up. There was no particular alarm about these calls. Democrats are seeing only what they want to see – information that helps them impeach Donald Trump. This is going to be one of the sillier and more embarrassing episodes in Democratic Party history, but we’ve no doubt that the media will dutifully protect them from the worst of the backlash.
