Leave it to Crazy Maxine Waters to find a way to actually outdo the rest of the left when it comes to overplaying the reaction to President Donald Trump’s NFL remarks. While we’ve seen some rather loony reactions from Democrats and the left, the California congresswoman is the first we’ve seen to actually suggest that Trump should be impeached for saying that players should be fired for kneeling. Now, we know that Rep. Waters can’t go ten minutes without calling for impeachment or her James Brown wig will spontaneously combust, but this was a stretch even for her.
In an interview with MSNBC’s Joy Reid – another leftist who we sometimes can’t believe actually has a job in broadcasting – Waters said that Trump was “the most deplorable person I have ever met, seen, or witnessed.” Really? That’s the way you talk about the President of the United States? You’re an elected member of Congress, Ms. Waters?! Not even TRUMP says stuff like this in his Twitter rants, and he’s supposed to be the most boorish politician to come along in a hundred years. Where’s the national media outrage over your comments? Oh, it’s okay, because you’re talking about Trump and Trump is evil. We forgot, sorry.
“It is absolutely outrageous and dangerous what he’s doing,” Waters said, referring to Trump’s remarks on the anti-American NFL protests. “He started dog-whistling to that constituency during the campaign and started this division. They frighten people. They play into racism. They do what every other president either has attempted not to do, or at least showed some signs of trying to bring people together, or not divide.”
You know, we’ve heard just about enough about how dangerous and racially divisive Trump’s comments have been. How about this: If an American president stating that Americans should respect the flag and stand up for the national anthem is divisive, then maybe the problem isn’t the president. Maybe the problem is that we’ve fallen so far as a country that we treat the thugs in the NFL like national heroes and we treat patriots like they’re scabs crossing the picket line. Maybe the problem is that millions of Americans are fed up with “social justice” types telling us we should despise our own country. No, no, don’t even TRY to tell us that Trump “started this division.” Trump merely took a side, which is more than his predecessors could be bothered to do. Trump merely showed Americans that it’s still okay to be proud of our country, proud of our history, and proud of our police and law enforcement officers. And that has infuriated race-baiters like Maxine Waters, who thought they had stuffed conservative America into a box of silence, never to be heard from again.
Well, you thought wrong, didn’t ya?
“I know we’re not talking Russia and collusion today, and we’re not talking about obstruction of justice, but I hope people understand it’s about all of this that he should not be the president of the United States,” she said. “And we’ve got to get ready for impeachment.”
Oh, you pathetic fool, there will be no impeachment. Not for Russia, not for the NFL, and certainly not because Trump is breaking all of your precious rules of political correctness. You folks on the left got lucky when you found Obama, because he was just charismatic enough to fool people into voting for him. But you got the wrong idea. You thought that his victories were a sign that America was changing into the socialist utopia you’d grown up dreaming about. And now you’re illusion is shattering and you’re beginning to realize that things haven’t changed nearly as much as you thought. We know it’s a hard pill to swallow, but you should probably try to get it down before you doom your party to the trash heap of history.
